Yesterday afternoon, around 4:30 p.m., the Ambatoroka district was shaken by a tragic road accident. A motorcyclist lost his life in a blood-curdling circumstance: his head was crushed.
According to eyewitness accounts, the victim and his wife were trying to overtake a line of cars stuck in traffic jams that were common at that time of day on their motorcycle. It was at that moment that a truck coming in the opposite direction at high speed hit them head-on. The force of the impact threw the two passengers into the air. Unfortunately, the swerve caused the driver to be catapulted under the truck, crushing him under its enormous tires. Despite attempts to rescue him, the man succumbed instantly to his injuries. His wife miraculously survived, suffering only minor injuries. She was immediately rushed to a medical facility.
Witnesses to the scene describe a moment of horror. Sadness and shock are palpable among local residents, who deplore, once again, another road victim.
