Almaty residents received more than a million tenge for reporting corruption

In 2023, eight residents of the metropolis received a monetary reward for assisting in exposing corrupt officials, Liter.kz reports.

Since the beginning of the year, five people have been rewarded for reporting facts of corruption, three of them with monetary rewards totaling 741 thousand tenge, two civil servants received letters of gratitude.

A judicial administration specialist contacted the Almaty city department with a statement about the fact that she had been given a bribe to expedite the issuance of a decree on release from custody. Based on this fact, a guilty verdict was passed against the person who committed this offense. In turn, the specialist was rewarded with a letter of gratitude for providing assistance in combating corruption,” said the head of the department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Anti-Corruption in Almaty, Armana Rakhimov, at the RSK briefing.

In addition, an employee in the border troops also reported facts of an illegal offense, which after re-checking were confirmed. Residents of Almaty are encouraged to actively get involved in the fight against corruption, report specific facts of violations to the call center of the Anti-Corruption Service at 1424 or the territorial departments of the agency.
