According to La Capitale, which relies on a testimony on social media, the man allegedly tried to kidnap a five-month-old baby on Saturday evening around 7:30 PM. This is said to have happened in Sergeant Sorenstraat, while the child’s parents were loading their car. The man allegedly ran away with the child, but was stopped by bystanders. The same testimony mentions a possible accomplice, who allegedly traveled in a white van.

The public prosecutor’s office could only confirm on Sunday that a complaint had been filed on Saturday evening for the attempted kidnapping of a minor, under the age of twelve, in Ganshoren, and that a man born in 1994 had been arrested. After questioning, that man was made available to the investigating judge, who released him without suspecting him.
