All League 1 Stadiums Next Season Will Use VAR

JAKARTA – PT LIB acknowledges preparations to welcome Liga 1 2024/2025 it will be heavier. One reason is to ensure that all participating team stadiums use Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology.

This was stated by the Main Director (Dirut) of PT LIB, Ferry Paulus, to media crew, including MNC Portal Indonesia, when met at Field B, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (8/5/2024). He wants all teams to be ready to use VAR technology in their stadiums.

“It’s harder (preparations for next season) because next season all stadiums will have to have VAR. Now it’s part of a trial for four teams (in the championship series). “Next season, all teams must be ready,” said Ferry.

Yes, the new VAR technology will make its debut in Liga 1 2023/2024 in the championship series round. The plan is for the match to be held on Tuesday (14/5/2024) and Wednesday (15/5/2024).

The first match pitted Bali United against Persib Bandung at the I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali. The next day, Borneo FC visited Madura United’s headquarters at Bangkalan Stadium, Madura.

Apart from the VAR issue, Ferry also revealed that one thing that League 1 participating teams need to prepare for next season is the issue of the club’s financial resilience. Ferry revealed that there are still many things that have not been conveyed for next season, but he hopes that the many breakthroughs made can improve the quality of implementation.

“Then the limits on preparations for League 1 next season are related to the club’s financial resilience, we conveyed that after the championship series. “There are many things we can’t say yet, but the league has provided a breakthrough so that we can both improve so that the organization is better,” said Ferry.

“What is certain is that the face of the Indonesian league in the future will definitely be even better,” he concluded.
