Riyadh – The Algerian Army Chief of Staff, Saeed Chengriha, announced yesterday, Thursday, the start of developing a strategy for military cooperation between his country and Saudi Arabia.
This came during discussions between the Chief of Staff of the Algerian Army and his Saudi counterpart, Fayyad bin Hamid Al-Ruwaili, in the capital, Riyadh, which Chengriha visited 6 days ago, according to the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry said that Shenqriha stressed “the joint determination of the two countries’ armies to develop a working strategy that is consistent with the sincere will of the two countries’ leaderships.”
Shangriha stressed, “Exerting all possible efforts in order to control the basic and integrated axes that lead to the crystallization of our joint work strategy, and clarifying how to achieve its goals, for the benefit and interest of our two armies.”
He expressed his hope that his visit to Riyadh would lead to the desired results, “in the service of our bilateral military cooperation and our brotherly rapprochement.”
Shangriha explained, “I am certain that the fraternal meeting he had with Al-Ruwaili will have good results for the future of our bilateral military relations, in accordance with the ambitious and sincere will of the leaders of the two countries.”
Chengriha’s visit to Saudi Arabia, in his capacity as a representative of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, came in response to an invitation to attend the activities of the second edition of the World Defense Exhibition in Riyadh.
On Sunday, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman opened, in Riyadh, the World Defense Exhibition 2024 in its second edition (the first in 2022), which is organized by the General Authority for Military Industries during the period from 4 to 8 February, according to the official Saudi Press Agency.
