Moderator Aleš Cibulka was born again three years ago without exaggeration. On June 10, 2021, he had an abdominal accident and immediately after broadcasting the program Red carpetended up in the hands of doctors… and even in the intensive care unit after surgery. It was nothing banal, but diverticulum inflammation, which is an inflammatory process affecting the protrusions of the large intestine. On the show Slide on ČRo Dvojka, where he was supposed to host actress Maria Drahokoupilová (83), who was then celebrating her 80th birthday, he had to be replaced by presenter Dalibor Gondík (54).
As Cibulka later recalled, he had suspected for some time that all was not well with him in terms of health – for about a week his stomach ached permanently. However, he did not rush to the experts. His life partner, well-known voice actor Michal Jagelka (47), however, persuaded him to go to the doctor.
And he did well. Cibulka underwent various examinations, such as x-rays, ultrasounds or sono, because the theory was that he was “caught by a blind man”. In the end, however, it turned out to be a much more serious diagnosis, namely diverticulitis. In Vinohrady hospital, the presenter underwent emergency surgery.

“Today is exactly 3 years since the doctors saved my life… Thank you!” he wrote now, recalling the difficult moments of Cibulek on the social network, showing shots of his stomach before and after the procedure, when it is “adorned” by a large scar, and also attached several snapshots taken in the hospital bed. Even with the tube in his nose he looked very optimistic… “You know when he rubs off on a person, he starts doing shit…” he explained with exaggeration his good mood at the time. So that he wouldn’t be happy – he literally fell off the gravedigger’s shovel!
