Alert activated for cases of Oropouche fever in the region

One of the topics to be addressed is Oropouche, countries such as Brazil and Bolivia will participate, where they will present their experiences because within Mercosur they have experiences with outbreaks,” said the head of Health Surveillance.

Weeks ago, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) issued the epidemiological alert following the increase in the detection of cases of Oropouche fever in some areas of America and issued a series of recommendations such as reinforcing vector control and protection measures. personnel of the population at greater risk.

According to PAHO, climate change, deforestation and urbanization favored the spread of the pathogen in the region.
