The Spanish Carlos Alcaraz will make his debut next Tuesday at the US Open with the Australian tennis player Li Tu, from the qualifying rounds.
World number 188 Tu reached the first round in New York after winning three qualifying matches against Spain Alexandre More, to the Argentinian Marco Trungelliti and in Dutch Jesper de Jong, the three with a better ranking than him.

Serbian’s rival in first round Novak Djokovic, World number 2, also came out of these qualifying rounds and will be the Romanian Radu Albot (n.138), with whom he will play on Monday.
Alcaraz’s path to the title
If he wins the first round with Tu, Alcaraz will face either the Canadian Denis Shapovalov or in Dutch Bottic de la Zandschulp. His most likely rival in the third round would be the Englishman Jack Draper, although it could also be the Argentinian Facundo Diaz Acosta.
In the round of 16, Alcaraz could meet the American Sebastian Korda or with the Chilean Alexander Tabilo. And in the quarter-finals, his probable rivals would be either the Pole Hubert Hurkacz, seventh in the world, or the Australian Alex de Minaur, tenth.
