First of all, it is noted that in the last 20 years, the rate of cancer diagnosis in the United States has increased by 12.8%. At the same time, a sharp increase in the number of cancer patients under the age of 50 was recorded. It was said that the disease was registered especially in North America, Australia and Western European countries.
The disease is rejuvenating
According to Andrea Cherchak, director of the gastrointestinal cancer program at the New York City Cancer Center, the main cause of the disease’s resurgence is lifestyle: “Maybe it’s related to environmental changes, our food, medications, or something we haven’t identified yet.”
It is noted that the situation is getting worse. Doctors still don’t understand what’s wrong. Experts admit that there is a change in lifestyle compared to previous years, a decrease in physical activity, low-quality products, new toxins, microplastics, excessive obesity lead to cancer. However, the article notes that obesity and lifestyle also do not fully explain the causes of the condition.
