Alain Delon in 2019 he suffered a stroke with bleeding in the brain. Although he survived and recovered, due to the demanding treatment and very painful experiences, he almost completely lost the will to live and became very weak. And to make matters worse, three years later he was diagnosed with malignant lymphoma on his lungs. That is, the same type of cancer as the one from which Karel Gott died.
So Delon underwent palliative treatment for the last years of his life. “At his age, a treatment with a lot of side effects no longer makes sense, it would only shorten his life and damage his kidneys,” his son Anthony (59) explained at the time. However, Alan still had to swallow dozens of pills a day. However, despite the complicated maintenance treatment, the actor apparently suffered from unbearable pain in the last years of his life.
Already two years before his death, he let it be known that he would rather undergo euthanasia. It is legal in Switzerland, where he lived for a long time. A year later, he also underwent a judicial investigation, which was supposed to assess his state of health. “Life is over. I want to die,” he told investigators at the time. In the process, it was revealed that he suffered from permanent pain throughout his body and was physically and mentally weak.
The court then assigned him an assistant, which he himself requested. According to the report, he could no longer even speak properly.
