“They want to kill me slowly inside the prison.” With those few words, Abdullah Al-Senussi’s daughter set off a huge surprise.
The daughter of Abdullah Al-Senussi, director of the intelligence service in the former Libyan regime, during the era of Muammar Gaddafi, revealed that she met her father two months ago.
Sarah confirmed in an interview with Al Arabiya/Al-Hadath that her father told her, “They want to kill him slowly inside the prison.”
unknown fate
He also considered that he was facing an unknown fate, the outcome of which was unknown.
In addition, Al-Senussi’s daughter stressed in her speech that “interventions and unknown external parties prevented her father from attending court sessions for years.” She said, “There are parties who are obstructing bringing him to court, and deliberately making him absent.”
It also considered that there has been a conspiracy in Libya since 2011, pointing out that the country is now under international guardianship.
She believed that “the purpose of this absence of her father from the trial is to say that the Libyan judiciary is unable to try him, and thus transfer him to the International Criminal Court.”
She concluded by describing what was happening as a farce, and threatened with “unpleasant consequences,” according to what she said.
A session was supposed to be held last Monday for Al-Senussi’s trial, but it was postponed again to the 29th of this month (January 2024).
Bringing the number of postponed sessions so far to more than 10, amid accusations from his defense team against the responsible authorities of deliberately not bringing him to the sessions to prolong his trial, while the Libyan Public Prosecutor confirmed that the trial was proceeding normally.
Al-Senussi, who is described as Gaddafi’s black box and the keeper of his secrets, who has been in prison since 2012, faces several charges, most notably the suppression of protesters during the February 17 revolution in 2011, in addition to being accused of being behind the Abu Salim prison massacre in 1996, in which more than 1,200 prisoners were killed.
He also believes that his health condition is poor, as his family had previously indicated that his condition had deteriorated as a result of the reactivation of cancer cells in the liver, after they had previously been removed, and that he lacks adequate health care and treatment inside the prison in Tripoli.
