Today, in the city of Quneitra, the ordinary general assembly of the Moroccan University for Consumer Rights was held, where representatives of the members renewed the confidence in the university president, Bouazza Al -Khartati, and they unanimously elected him for a new mandate at the head of this civil body, at a station described in the articulated to enhance the Moroccan consumer protection path.
The work of the general assembly was attended by approximately 60 representatives of the associations under the university’s banner out of 70 active associations distributed over the various regions of the Kingdom. The meeting started with recitation of verses from the wise dhikr, then an opening speech by President Bouazza Al -Khargi, in which he reviewed the most prominent achievements of the university and the challenges it faced, with a ground for discussion and evaluation.
The literary and financial reports were also discussed and approved unanimously, before opening the door for interventions and questions. The general assembly works concluded with a recitation of a telegram of loyalty and sincerity raised to King Mohammed VI, as an expression of the university’s recruitment behind national principles and state institutions.
In a speech by the way, Bouazza Al -Kharti stressed that his re -election represents a new assignment and additional responsibility to continue to defend the rights of the Moroccan consumer.
Al -Khourati stressed that the next stage will witness the launch of initiatives to enhance consumer culture, and to expand the network of consumer windows across the various regions of the Kingdom, in addition to intensifying pleading for more just and fair laws for the benefit of consumers.
It is noteworthy that the Moroccan University of Consumer Rights was established in 2010 at the initiative of 12 associations, before the number of its members expanded to reach more than 70 associations; In addition to an executive office of 15 members, and a 24 -member national council. The university is currently overseeing the operation of 29 frameworks that run the windows of consumer in partnership with member associations.
Despite the challenges imposed by the Korona’s pandemic, the Moroccan University of Consumer Rights continued its awareness and educational role; Through awareness programs and partnerships with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and various national institutions.
The last years have formed an important turning point in the aforementioned civil body path; By participating in drafting legislative proposals and contributing to listening sessions organized by constitutional institutions, in order to enhance the legal framework for consumer protection.
Thanks to this dynamism, the Moroccan University for Consumer Rights has established its position as a pivotal collective actor, which combines sensitization, training and addressing citizens’ complaints, in order to enhance confidence between the consumer and market institutions, and contributes to protecting and defending his rights.
