Al-Istiqlal is heading to elect the Executive Committee amid expectations that many names will be changed

At the 18th National Conference of the Istiqlal Party, this Saturday evening, attention will be directed towards the list of members of the Executive Committee that will be presented by Secretary-General Nizar Baraka, who agreed to grant him a new term at the head of the party, as it is expected to witness a group of changes after the majority of the outgoing members expressed a great desire to continue. .

According to the sources of the electronic newspaper Hespress, the Executive Committee, which the Secretary-General intends to propose to the National Council, will be absent from it more than half of the names that occupied its membership, while it is certain to include Hamdi Ould Rachid and his son Mohamed Hamdi Ould Rachid.

The same sources also expected that Baraka would retain other names in his executive committee, including Fouad Al-Qadiri, Omar Hujaira, and Abdul-Jabbar Al-Rashidi, in addition to Aziz Hilali, Abdul-Samad Qayuh, and Zainab Qayuh.

The sources, who did not wish to reveal their identity, confirmed that Nour El-Din Madian, a member of the Executive Committee and former head of the party’s parliamentary team, has been excluded from the Executive Committee in the next stage, due to the repercussions of his case with Rafia Al-Mansouri, who is before the court.

According to the same data, a dispute exists between the Baraka and Ould Errachid factions over the continuation of the leader, Mohamed Saud, to whom the Southern Regions Movement adheres, while Baraka and his followers reject him because of the problems the party is experiencing in the north.

The same information also indicates that Khadija Zoumi’s continuation in the Executive Committee is also in great doubt, especially because of her recent positions and her bias towards the Ould Errachid movement, which was the reason for her removal from the office of the House of Representatives.

According to the same sources, Abdelkader Al-Kihal, the parliamentary advisor and leader of the party in the city of Salé, who is actively seeking membership in the Executive Committee, has become weak, especially after the Baraka movement accused him of involvement in the disputes that took place at the conference last night.

Meanwhile, preparations are being made in the space that hosts the conference’s work for the start of the National Council session, which is expected to elect the Secretary-General, and then the members of the Executive Committee, amid intense anticipation of the reactions and developments that the conference may know in the next few hours.
