The Royal Commission for AlUla Governorate announced the names of the participants in the next edition of its artistic residency program, which comes in cooperation with the French Agency for the Development of AlUla (AFalula). The new season, which will continue throughout the current year 2024, includes six programs, five of which are designated for artistic residency, while the sixth program is designated for the Alumni Association.
These programs include the AlUla Residency for Fine Arts, the AlUla Residency for Design, the AlUla Residency for Arts, Botany, Agriculture, and Landscaping, the AlUla Residency for Heritage and Innovation, and long-term residencies.
Artists and designers from all over the world participate in the AlUla Artistic Residency Programme. The program is an opportunity to encourage artists and creative people in different fields to explore the possibilities of AlUla. It also comes within the framework of strengthening its position as a global center for creative minds and a destination for artistic residency programs.
The list of participants in the AlUla Fine Arts Residency Program includes artists from France, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and South Africa.
In this regard, the head of the Creative Opportunities Department at the Royal Commission for AlUla, Ali Al-Ghazawi, said: “The AlUla Artistic Residency Program is a testament to our commitment to strengthening our position as a global and vibrant destination for creativity, as we shape, through our programs in fine art, design, landscaping and heritage, a diverse and rich scene that transcends borders.” Individual projects, inspired by the natural wonders and history of AlUla.”
For his part, Arnaud Morand, head of the Innovation and Creativity Department at the French Agency for the Development of AlUla (AFalula), said: “The AlUla Artistic Residency Program provides a vision of society’s interaction with changes and how to keep up with them, and a practical framework through which creative people can integrate themselves purposefully, as it is a fundamental pillar in the field of innovation and creativity at the French Agency for the Development of AlUla (AFalula).
