The Bahraini writer and media personality, Dr. Parwin Habib, Chairman of the Al Dana Drama Award Jury, said that the award succeeded in giving the artistic scene in the region a great and important momentum, and constituted a valuable addition to the process of appreciating artistic giving in the Gulf and Arab world, because of its great literary value, and the pride and gratitude it brings to the creative artists who They contribute with their radio and television dramas to creating societal awareness.

She said that the award is a reflection of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s long and pioneering history in the field of arts, culture and creativity, as the Kingdom was and still is a bright oasis of cultural radiation and a center of activity that attracts great creators in the fields of writing, art and poetry from the East and West.

Praising the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, for the award. Emphasizing that such care represents an incentive for its success in achieving its goals.

Habib indicated her pride in chairing the Al Dana Drama Award jury, whose membership includes an elite group of critics and specialists in the artistic field, namely the writer, producer and director Sheikha Soha Al Khalifa from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Saudi director Amer Al-Hamoud, the director of the Media Regulation Department in the United Arab Emirates and the head of the TV channel. Capital Cinema and film director Nasser Al-Tamimi, Bahraini producer and director Osama Al-Saif, film director and producer Nahla Al-Fahad, Emirati film director Abdullah Al-Kaabi, director, filmmaker and drama production manager at Oman TV Ahmed Al-Hadari, Omani drama author Yousef Al-Hajj, and Assistant Director General of the General Administration for International Cooperation. In the Radio and Television Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah bin Mabkhout Al Mubarak, the Head of the Program Selection Department at the Sultanate of Oman TV, Abdul Hakim Al-Abri, the Head of the Preparation and Direction Department of the Production and Drama Control Department at the State of Kuwait TV, Amer Saleh Al-Amer, and the former Director of Content and Quality Management at the Saudi Channel, Muhammad Al-Shanqeeti.

She confirmed that the committee, since its formation, has made a great effort in sorting and evaluating the works that were submitted to it, which exceeded 70 television works, based on objective criteria, and the selection was made carefully among them, so that 3 nominated names were selected in each of the ten award categories, where the announcement will be made. Names of award winners at the opening ceremony of the sixteenth session of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival on May 28.

Habib expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to her fellow jury members for their cooperation, and for the efforts they made to continue working day and night in order to select the best works. She also thanked the Ministry of Information in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the General Secretariat of the Gulf Radio and Television Corporation for the facilities provided to the committee. Which contributed to the success of its work and tasks.

She also expressed her hope that the Al Dana Drama Award would continue its strong start in the coming years, and that its first edition this year would be a source of inspiration for more awards and honors for Gulf and Arab creators, as the awards are a simple expression of the extent of love and appreciation for their path of giving, and their pivotal role in shaping thought and conscience.
