Vice President of the Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Center for Teaching the Holy Qur’an, Sheikh Yousef Muhammad Al-Ghawi, said that the number of students studying at the center reached 1,000, while the number of teachers reached 125.
Al-Ghawi added in his interview with Al-Bilad that the center continues to serve the Book of God Almighty and serve Bahraini society, indicating that the center’s ambition is to have a memorizer of the Book of God in every Bahraini home.

When was the center established, and what are the most important services it provides to students?

The center was established, thanks to God, in the year 1995 by the late Sheikh Yusuf bin Faqih (may God have mercy on him). Over the past twenty-seven years, it has received many students of knowledge, memorizers, readers, and devotees of the Book of God Almighty, and the enthusiasm for this continues, and the giving continues. This is the field of goodness, loyalty, and serving the Book of God Almighty.

How many teachers teach there?

Approximately 225 teachers.

And the number of students?

More than a thousand students, both male and female, and their ages (for memorization) vary from four to fifteen years, and for Tajweed it is for adults, and the age of one of them reached 71 years.

What is your message through this blessed center?

Raising a distinguished Qur’anic generation, and having a memorizer in every home, God Almighty willing, and we aim to take care of the Book of God by memorizing, understanding, and acting, spreading the correct Islamic doctrine among members of society, spreading the science of readings, focusing on the narration of Hafs bin Asim, and deepening the sense of responsibility towards the duty of preaching. To God Almighty.

What do you advise parents regarding their interest in Quranic memorization centres?

We advise parents to urge their children to enter the Qur’anic centers early, and not to delay it. At the center, we have the golden rule, which is based on attracting students from the ages of four and five, and we are interested in teaching them the correct Arabic language with Qur’anic words, and many of our young students when they enter the primary grade. The first is that they have a distinct command of the language, and we have received many compliments from schools, praise be to God, in this regard. They even mentioned to us that they have become among the top students academically.
As for memorization, we accept the registration of students who have already entered school, so that they are proficient in the Arabic language, and this will help them memorize.

How many Golden Rule students are there?

Approximately 125 students, 30 of whom are foreigners.

What role is assigned to parents in continuing their children’s education in Quranic sciences at home, that is, after the end of their class at the center?

They are supposed to review with their children on an ongoing basis what they have memorized or been taught, and not to rely completely on the efforts of the center, whose class does not exceed one hour per day.
This follow-up is similar to its counterpart in school, so the role is similar.

What are the most important awards that the center has achieved recently?

Our center is considered the first among the Qur’anic memorization centers in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and in the Great Bahrain Competition for the year 2024, the center ranked first, and we will be honored soon in Al-Fateh.

What about girls?

We have 5 study rooms designated for girls to memorize the Holy Quran, and their number is 200.

What are the characteristics of a successful tutor (who teaches students)?

That he pays all his students the required attention, and that their education period be free of any other preoccupations, such as frequent answering the phone, and that he must have good manners, good treatment, and be patient with students, and have an extensive Qur’anic academic background.

What are your centre’s priorities?

We need financial support in order to continue this blessed giving, and we have finally obtained, with God’s grace, a fundraising license.
