Al-Bilad observed a significant increase in the prices of maids who work in homes on an hourly basis and a monthly stay during the upcoming month of Ramadan, as the rush began to make reservations with them early this year.

This traditional trend comes annually, due to the increase in the recruitment of Asian and African maids under the sponsorship system, as the cost of recruiting an Asian, Indian, and Filipino maid has reached approximately 1,700 dinars.

The ambiguity of whether they will remain at home and not escape, in light of the presence of a number of criminal networks specialized in attracting them and encouraging them to do so, along with the encouragement of relatives and acquaintances who work in the same profession, also constitutes another problem facing the restlessness and reluctance of the helpless Bahraini sponsor.

The cost of a maid who works on an hourly basis, as is customary, is two dinars per hour, in addition to the delivery cost (one dinar), with discounts if the number of hours increases to four or five hours, depending on the office’s direction and marketing policies. The office also undertakes to provide detergents and tools. Necessary, which the maid takes with her.

While the prices of maids varied on a monthly basis, as long as they stayed in the house (overnight) from 160 dinars to 220 dinars per month, with a day off, and the head of the family was responsible for her daily expenses.

But the situation in Ramadan is different, as the prices of some of them have risen these days to 300 dinars at once, with their presence scarce in the local market, and the increasing demand for them, in light of the work of both spouses, the increase in the number of family members, or the responsibilities of the household.

It should be noted that some maids (with a monthly overnight stay system) require additional amounts in the event of a request to care for children, and some of them refuse to work if this is one of the conditions required of the head of the family.

Many offices provide their services to the public through their accounts on the Instagram application, which includes the ages of the maids, their nationalities, the services they are able to provide, and the payment mechanism, which is mostly through the Benefit Pay application.
