On Thursday, Poland demanded that Israel pay compensation for the killing of an aid worker from the World Central Kitchen organization in the Gaza Strip.

Today, Thursday, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called on Israel to apologize for the killing of Polish aid worker Damian Sobol in Gaza.

Tusk also called on Israel to pay compensation to the family of Sobol, who was among 7 aid workers killed in an air strike on Gaza.

Donald Tusk added in a press conference, “We will expect…an immediate clarification of the circumstances and compensation for the relatives of the victims.”

Tusk said yesterday, Wednesday, that the Israeli air attack that led to the killing of aid workers in Gaza and the reaction of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu caused “understandable anger” and strained relations with Warsaw.

Netanyahu said on Tuesday that the air strike that killed employees of the World Central Kitchen charity was tragic and unintended, adding, “This happens in war.”

Israel’s ambassador to Poland, Yaakov Livni, said in a post on the X social media platform on Tuesday that the “extreme right and left” in Poland accuse Israel of premeditated murder, adding that “anti-Semitism will always remain anti-Semitism.”

Tusk wrote on the social media platform “Understandable.”
