A unique digital project of its kind in the region, it is a pioneering collaboration between the teamLab Art Museum and the Saudi Ministry of Culture.
Abdul Rahman Al-Mutawa, spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Culture, said in a speech during the opening ceremony that the museum will help promote different types of arts, especially as it embodies 80 different works of art that are displayed using modern technologies.
He added: “We are very proud to open the TeamLab Museum Without Borders in the heart of the historical district of Jeddah. This first-of-its-kind project, implemented in cooperation with TeamLab, is part of a new chapter for the cultural scene in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is a revolutionary space where borders between Art, technology and our natural world, providing a truly immersive experience. We are grateful to teamLab for sharing in the Ministry of Culture’s dedication to promoting innovative artistic expressions that resonate locally and globally.” We envision TeamLab Without Borders Jeddah as a dynamic meeting point, where visitors can explore uncharted territories of creativity and engage in a dialogue linking the Kingdom’s rich heritage with contemporary artistic discourse. As the Ministry of Culture continues to work towards achieving the cultural goals of Saudi Vision 2030, we aim for the museum to strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a center for arts and culture in the region and the world.”

Through a combination of light, sound and touch, it aims to provide an interactive journey where visitors can roam freely, explore works of art and interact with them in an ambitious plan by the Saudi Ministry of Culture. The new place includes its location in Odaiba, Japan, which holds a record in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2021.
