Nahman added: “Personal data for artificial intelligence weapons could spark a global arms race and increase the risk of war. Artificial intelligence systems can be hacked and used for malicious purposes such as cyberattacks, carbon footprints and how artificial intelligence contributes to climate change. She pointed out that over the past ten years or so, there have been a lot of concerns that exist due to artificial intelligence, because everyone has seen privacy and security issues with misinformation.
She continued: “There are all these concerns that keep coming up, and we started with the intention of looking at that back in 2016 and thinking about how we could develop responsible AI frameworks that could help us.”
She stated that she is working in this field and trying to find a solution for how to develop artificial intelligence frameworks, and the reason she decided to do this is to enable deep belief to manipulate people, explaining that it is very difficult for people to understand whether something is stable or not?
She pointed out that they conducted a study to discover whether people can tell the difference between true and false, but it turned out that people’s ability to detect these things is very poor.
“So we started thinking about what we do like what other ways can we bring to the table to fix this problem,” she explained. “We thought can we use AI to combat AI.”
She stated that artificial intelligence nowadays appears in many forms that can contribute to people getting into trouble, including changing or imitating the voice, in addition to imitating the appearance of humans and appearing in a video clip on social media platforms.
She pointed out that they have learned to detect differences through the different points on the face that contain all the PPG signals correctly, and we take those PPG signals and then we essentially create EPG maps that show this change in time and across the world.
She continued: “The idea is if you take all these points from fake videos versus real videos, and train a machine learning model to distinguish the differences between fake videos and real videos, you could actually be able to help a human understand the difference between the two.”
She noted that in this experiment they actually decided to bring intelligence back to the table and have them look at it and be able to understand whether at this specific stage, is there something being said in this video that seems unusual, that could bring some of human intelligence along with What the system does, is it is able to actually look at these detection signals.
“It’s really worrying when you think about how to confront artificial intelligence,” she said.
She concluded by saying, “As human beings we are conditioned to believe in what we hear and what it is and what we start writing down in reality with everything we hear and see is really a big problem because it will provoke us as we cannot even make decisions because of this anxiety.”
