The second part of the animated film “Inside Out,” which revolves around the psychological fluctuations during adolescence, achieved a strong start at the North American box office, collecting $155 million in its first days of release, according to figures from the specialized company “Experior Relations.”
In this long-awaited sequel to the film, produced by Pixar and Disney, heroine Riley discovers new feelings as she enters adulthood, including anxiety, boredom, embarrassment, and even desire, according to Agence France-Presse.
The animated film toppled last week’s ranking leader, “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, which came in second place this week with $33 million, bringing its total revenue to $112 million in two weeks.
On the other hand, the movie “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes”, the latest part of the famous science fiction saga, advanced two places compared to last week’s ranking, achieving $5.2 million in the last weekend, bringing its total revenues to $157 million in six weeks.
In fourth place was the movie “The Garfield Movie”, adapted from the adventures of the famous cat “Garfield”, produced by “Sony”, down two places from last week. It generated revenues of $5 million, achieving total revenues of $78.5 million in three weeks.
The horror and suspense film “The Watchers” directed by Ishana Shyamalan, the daughter of director M. Night Shyamalan, up one place to fifth place, with revenues of $3.7 million, bringing his total cumulative revenue to $13 million.
