Elle Fanning is set to be on the L’Oréal Paris Lights on Women’s Worth award committee.
Fanning told WWD: “I am honored to chair the award jury at the Cannes Film Festival and to play a role in continuing this important initiative.”
Fanning will take over from Kate Winslet, who has been at the helm since the award’s inception in 2021.
She added: “Platforms like this are essential to support emerging female talent, give them the opportunity to showcase their unique skills and work and empower them. The exceptional talent of last year’s finalists was truly amazing. I can’t wait to watch the films.”
The Lights on Women’s Worth Award was created to recognize a promising female director in the short film categories via official selection, including short film competition nominees, as well as La Cinef film school entry nominees.
