The Ministry of Education said in its response to the question submitted by Representative Muhammad Al-Husseini regarding social supervisors and educational and administrative supervision in schools that the number of social guidance specialists in schools for the year 2023/2024 is (613) male and female specialists, as a minimum of one specialist is provided for each school, and no There is any school that does not have a social guidance specialist.
The Ministry added, “Social guidance specialists are responsible for activating specialized guidance practices, according to an accurate scientific methodology, which helps them deal with the needs of students and address their problems and issues in an effective manner.”
She added, “As well as preparing and implementing guidance programs, activating classes, guidance visits and school radio, with the aim of promoting and developing sound behavioral values.”
The Ministry added, “The Ministry also involves them in many development courses and programs, throughout the academic year, in order to raise their professional competence and provide them with knowledge and specialized professional skills in the field of social counselling.”
She stated, “Social service specialists contribute to providing specialized support for social guidance, providing them with the necessary technical expertise in the field of social guidance, preparing, following up and implementing training programs and development activities, and following up on their work in the school field.”
She added, “With regard to preventive measures to educate students about the dangers of behavioral deviations, the Ministry has prepared a guide for dealing with children’s psychological and behavioral problems, with the aim of educating parents, and those working in the educational field, about the types of psychological, behavioral and achievement problems, and how to deal with them and treat them.”
