The British newspaper “Daily Mail” reported in a report that US President Joe Biden recently joined “Tik Tok” months after preventing his employees from using the application owned by a Chinese company, which may expose his campaign for the presidential elections to spying.

A cybersecurity expert told the newspaper that spying on the Biden campaign may take place through back channels created by the company that owns TikTok.

The Biden campaign did not provide any details about its plans to prevent the company from accessing information that the Chinese government might share.

As of June 2023, Biden has blocked nearly 4 million government employees from installing the app on their devices.

Due to data security concerns, politicians supported banning the app completely.

American politicians expressed concerns that the Chinese government might force the app manufacturer to disclose data it collected from American users.

“We take advanced safety precautions around our devices and incorporate a cutting-edge security protocol to ensure security,” Biden campaign advisors said in a statement.

But the campaign did not explain this strategy or explain which devices would be logged into the account.

Experts expect the US election season to witness unprecedented levels of sophisticated digital fraud that undermines the campaign, including fake videos and personal misinformation based on artificial intelligence.

Amid these concerns, the Biden campaign’s move raises criticism from all sides.
