During the phone conversation, Biden informed the Israeli Prime Minister that the United States would also oppose any Israeli counterattack on Iran, according to a White House official who spoke to Axios.
Israeli news reports revealed that disagreements occurred between members of the Israeli mini-government regarding the response to the Iranian attack.
During the urgent meeting, the mini-security government confirmed the authorization of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Galant, and Israeli Defense Cabinet member Benny Gantz to take the appropriate decisions to respond to the attack.
But some figures within the Council objected to this approach, according to what the Times of Israel reported.
The Iranian attack on Israel comes in response to the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, at the beginning of this April, being subjected to an Israeli missile attack, which resulted in the killing of 7 members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, including the prominent leader Mohammad Reza Zahedi.
