A presentation presented by representatives of the Ministry of Works during the Southern Municipal Council meeting yesterday included the most prominent current and future projects for the road sector in the Southern Governorate.
The projects included the construction of parking lots on Road 1840, Madinat Zayed Walk, Block 718, the development of Baghdad Street, Block 801-802, 808-810, the development of Road 1218 in Isa Town, Block 812, in addition to the construction of a deceleration lane on Istiklal Street to Road 4013 in Isa Town, Block 840.
It also included the development of Road 41 (the second phase), extending from Road 4013 to December 16 Street, Block 840 and 841, the development of Road 4109 in the Educational District, Block 841, and the paving of Roads 4114A and 4114C, and Road 4116 in Riffa, Block 941.
It included developing the infrastructure in the Wadi Al-Bahir area (first phase) Block 934, developing Al-Mahzoura Street (second phase) Blocks 933 and 939, developing Al-Mahzoura Street (first phase) Blocks 935 and 939, in addition to constructing parking lots for the Jassim Mahza Mosque, Block 939, and developing Street. Al-Hajiyat and the creation of a roundabout on Al-Hajiyat Street with Jeddah Street, Block 935 and 939.
The projects also included the development of roads 3903-3922, the establishment of parking lots on Road 3911 in Riffa, Block 939, the maintenance of the internal roads of the Southern Governorate, Block 903 and 905, in addition to the expansion of Umm Al-Naasan Street to 3 lanes in each direction (first phase), Block 925 and 927, and the development of Street Al-Hunainiya Complex 901 and 910.
The projects also included developing Road 847 in Riffa, Block 908, paving Road 5050, creating parking lots for property No. 1200495 in Khalifa City, Block 950, adding a left turn lane from Al-Maskar Street to Riffa Street, Block 949, connecting Al-Hunaina Street and Shar Al-Maskar, Block 942, and developing Street. Jarada Complex 911.
It also included paving dirt roads and establishing a sewage network in Zallaq, Block 1056, and developing the link road with Housing Area No. 1, 2, and 3 in Khalifa City, Block 960, in addition to developing the Boulevard Street and Hawar Street in Khalifa City 956, 957, and 962.
