Informed sources revealed that the construction work for the Grand Casablanca Stadium in Benslimane will begin at the end of this June and will end in 2028, in preparation for hosting the 2030 World Cup matches jointly with Spain and Portugal.
The same sources stated, in a statement to Hesport, that all concerned parties are committed to building a stadium worthy of the World Cup finals, as the works are expected to officially begin at the end of this month and will continue until 2028.
The British company that won the stadium design confirmed that the submitted design derives its identity from the “season” culture in Morocco, as the stadium’s structure is located under the roof of a large tent, noting that its location extends over an area of 100 hectares in the city of Mansouria in the Benslimane province (38 km north of Casablanca). ).
The British company explained that the stadium will be compatible with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) book of regulations, especially for organizing the 2030 World Cup matches, as well as Moroccan club matches.
Morocco is betting on the large stadium of Casablanca to host the 2030 World Cup final, especially in light of Spanish pressure to hold the final match in the “Santiago Bernabeu” stadium in Madrid.
