The General Federation of Moroccan Contracting (CGEM), represented by its president, has signed a multilateral cooperation and partnership agreement with the employers of the employers affiliated with the countries of the Economic and Central African Group (CEMAC), on the sidelines of the organized economic parliament forum in El -Ayoun in partnership with the House of Advisors.
This agreement was signed in the presence of Evirist Nagamana, the head of the Simak Council, along with the heads of economic federations for both Cameroon, Gabon, Chad, Congo and Central Africa, who expressed their commitment to pushing partnership relations with Moroccan economic actors towards promising prospects based on exchanging opportunities and joint investment in areas of high value.
The agreement, signed in front of the attention of the Chairman of the House of Counselors, the governor of the El -Ayoun Sakia El Hamra side and a number of government officials and local elected, stipulates the creation of a “joint economic power Morocco – Somak” as a platform for dialogue, coordination and economic cooperation between the General Union of Moroccan Contracting and its counterparts in the Central African countries.
This joint mechanism, according to the text of the agreement, will undertake the development tasks between the two sides, simplify the rulings of information exchange and encourage partnerships between contracting and contribute to the emergence of joint investment projects in multiple fields.
The work group consists of a joint leadership committee headed by a representative of CGEM and another for every national union from CEMAC, as well as a joint technical secretariat to follow the implementation of projects, as well as sectoral work groups that bring together economic actors, experts and partner institutions in the fields of agriculture, renewable energies, infrastructure, manufacturing and digital services.
The signed parties, according to the terms of the agreement, are also committed to setting an annual road map that defines the priorities of cooperation and organizing regular economic forums and meetings between Morocco and the countries of the group, in addition to coordinating bilateral meetings (B2B) between economic actors and encouraging mutual investment and transferring technology and industrial expertise through training and accompanying programs.
It is worth noting that the signatories stipulated that this partnership remain open for an unspecified time, and is subject to a joint annual evaluation that aims to monitor the progress made and propose ways to develop it in the service of the common economic interest.
