Prime Minister Aziz Akhenouch, today, Sunday, in the Spanish city of Seville to represent King Mohammed VI at the Fourth International Conference on Development Financing.
Akhenouch attended the dinner hosted by the Spanish monarch, King Felipe VI, and Queen Leticia, in honor of the heads of state and governments participating in this event.
The Moroccan delegation participating in this conference also includes the Minister of Economy and Finance Nadia Fattah, the permanent representative of Morocco to the United Nations, Omar Hilal, and the Kingdom’s ambassador in Spain, Karima Naish.
About 70 heads of state and government are expected to participate in this conference, along with 4000 representatives of civil society organizations, international financial institutions, and the private sector.
This conference, according to United Nations Secretary -General Antonio Guterres, aims to respond to the urgent financial needs of developing countries facing an annual deficit of about $ 4 trillion, an increase of $ 1.5 trillion of what it was ten years ago.
The conference, which is organized under the auspices of the United Nations, seeks from June 30 to July 3, to be a “unique opportunity to reform an uncomfortable and effective international financial system”, according to the UN Secretary -General, and this event also represents a major opportunity to accelerate the implementation of “Agenda 2030” and enhance the reform of the international financial structure.
It is expected that the draft advertisement, called “Seville’s commitment”, is expected to call for a better representation of the countries of the south in global financial bodies, the increase in the ability of development banks to lend to three times, and increase cooperation to combat tax evasion.
