Airlangga Resigns as Golkar General Chair, Andi Sinulingga: Later Bahlil will be General Chair

JAKARTA – A politician Golkar Party Andi Sinulingga confirmed the news The Story of Airlangga Hartarto resigned from the position of General Chairman of the Golkar Party on Saturday (10/8/2024) evening.

“Yes (Airlangga’s resignation) will be announced at the press conference,” said Andi when contacted, Sunday (11/8/2024).

Andi revealed that Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita will become the Acting General Chairman of Golkar to replace Airlangga’s position temporarily. In fact, Andi leaked that Bahlil Lahadalia will become the definitive General Chairman of the Golkar Party. The decision, said Andi, will be made in the Golkar National Conference forum.

“The Acting Chairman is Agus Gumiwang. The National Conference will be held as soon as possible, then Bahlil will be the general chairman,” said Andi.

Meanwhile, based on information from sources within Golkar, the National Conference will be held on August 20, 2024. In fact, according to the schedule, the National Conference will be held in December.

Previously, Golkar Party Deputy Chairman Dito Ariotedjo did not answer directly regarding the news of Airlangga’s resignation from Golkar’s General Chair. Dito asked to wait for official information regarding this issue.

“We’ll wait for the official announcement… Maybe because the focus will be on government and future challenges related to the national and global economy are increasingly numerous and complex,” Dito told reporters when confirmed, Sunday (11/8/2024).
