JAKARTA – PT AirAsia Indonesia Tbk (CMPP) is preparing 62 additional flights or a total of 11,160 seats to anticipate a surge in travelers for Eid 2024. This increase is also supported by a fleet of 25 aircraft for transportation at the peak of the return flow which is predicted to occur on April 14-15 2024, after the peak Homecoming will occur on April 5-7 2024.

AirAsia Indonesia President Director Veranita Yosephine noted that the largest increase in flights using this airline occurred on the Jakarta-Bali route, which grew by 32% compared to normal days.

“Likewise, the Bali-Labuan Bajo route increased by 15%, and Jakarta-Lampung which experienced an increase of 9%,” explained Vera, quoted on Tuesday (9/4/2024).

Not only did domestic routes experience an increase, Vera recorded the highest number of Indonesia AirAsia flights on international routes such as Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur-Surabaya, and Bali-Perth during this Eid period. Each of these routes recorded an increase of 7%.

AirAsia also urges travelers to do web-check-in before departure. To get an easier check-in experience, Indonesia AirAsia recommends that no more than 7 kg of luggage be put into the aircraft cabin, and you can check in baggage via the check-in counter at the departure airport.

“Apart from that, passengers are advised to arrive 3 hours before departure time, to anticipate crowds at the airport,” he said.
