Recently, ex-member of ABK, leader and soloist of the K7 group, Erlan Kokeev, spoke about the outrageous case with Air Astana on his social networks, Liter.kz reports.
According to Erlan Kokeev, he flew from Ust-Kamenogorsk to Almaty, but did not find his musical instrument at baggage claim.
“You have lost my guitar. And most importantly, you say that it hasn’t arrived yet. It simply isn’t here. And I warned you, I said: ‘Be careful with the instrument’… What should I do? Give me back my instrument!” the musician said in his video message.
According to Air Astana, employees of the airline’s baggage search service conducted a thorough check following Erlan Kokeev’s appeal.
“The check showed that at the departure airport, Erlan Kokeev was offered to take the guitar on board as hand luggage. However, the passenger wanted to check the guitar in as baggage and asked to put a “glass” tag on the case. According to the airline’s documents, on June 25, only one guitar was loaded onto flight KC302 from Ust-Kamenogorsk to Almaty. This is confirmed by surveillance camera recordings. Also, according to the recordings, the guitar was unloaded at the Almaty airport after the plane landed and was on the baggage belt along with other baggage of passengers on this flight. Then, a passenger in a red cap from the same flight took Erlan Kokeev’s guitar from the baggage belt,” the company assured.
Now the airline is asking the passenger in the red cap to return the guitar to Erlan Kokeev. Otherwise, Erlan Kokeev needs to contact law enforcement agencies to further establish the identity of the passenger and search for the missing property. For its part, Air Astana will provide all possible assistance to the police and provide video camera footage.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstanis began to complain more often about Air Astana.
