As reported by The Guardian, Sunday (31/3/2024), the total solar eclipse on April 8 will be visible for the first time in the region since 1979.

Niagara Falls, located in this part of the city, has been declared by National Geographic as one of the best places to see this phenomenon.

Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati estimated the largest number of visitors ever recorded in the city in a single day.

Therefore, the city government proactively requested emergency measures as a precautionary measure in dealing with the situation.

The announcement includes the implementation of several additional planning tools for today, which will likely result in severe traffic congestion, higher demand for emergency services, and congestion on mobile phone networks.
