THE Vangelis Pavlidis is ready to continue his career in Portugal as Alkmaar’s negotiations with Benfica are at the final stage and the Greek international forward has already agreed to wear the shirt of the Lisbon Eagles, according to reports in Portugal.
According to the “Record” newspaper, a Benfica agent traveled to the Netherlands to close his transfer from Alkmaar, with the relevant report entitled: “Everything under control with Pavlidis”.
Benfica will need to spend around €20 million to acquire the rights to Pavlidis, who finished the Eredivisie season with 29 goals in 34 appearances.
Benfica are expected to offload Artur Cabral, who they spent €20m on from Fiorentina last summer, and want Pavlidis at the top of the attack.
