With 13 years of experience, how do you see the evolution of Agapornis from its beginnings until now?

We are very happy with the evolution we have had, visiting Peru. It is a country that always welcomes us very well, and we always try to follow the path of fun. We have had some changes, Juli has been here for a year and a half and she has adapted very well to what the band is and what we are trying to convey. That was something that added a lot to us from every point of view.

Juliana Gallipoliti, How do you feel about belonging to the band and being the female voice?

The truth is that I am very happy to be part of the band. For me Agapornis means a lot of things, I have lived a lot of moments with my friends listening to the band. These are things from my adolescence and today it means a lot to be here with them, to share the stage. I come very much from the pop side, I have always loved cumbia, the truth is that I enjoy it and I am very happy to be a part of it.

You were part of La Voz Argentina and Tini was your coach. How was that experience?

In 2018 I was in La Voz Argentina and Tini was my coach at that time. It was something beautiful that I experienced and I always remember it with great affection. I always say that Tini is a great person and a great artist. I was lucky to know her personally and I have learned a lot from her in every way.

Recently, they have just released the musical release of “Dejaría Todo” by Chayanne. How was that experience?

It was a very nice experience because we always wanted to do a Chayanne song. We heard the song one day in a bar, and we started trying with the guitar and keyboard, we saw that it fit and it came out very quickly.

What is the process you have for making song covers?

The process is the same. Some song that we all listen to and together we see if it can fit or not. We grabbed an instrument and started making cumbia. There are many that have not left because they are not left, that is more or less the selection process.

Considering that “I would leave everything” is a classic. How did you feel when interpreting it?

Yes, it is a classic. In addition, they know her of all ages, from adults to children.

What message do you want to convey with each cover you perform?

The essence of the band is always to try to remake songs such as in this case they are classics and songs that we also like and transform them into a more fun version.

Years ago they collaborated with the Yaipén Brothers. How did it come about?

That collaboration arose several years ago, they proposed the group to us, we were amused by how they were too. The singer came to Argentina and we recorded the video clip there. The experience was great.

What new projects do you have during the year?

On May 30 we are going to release another cover, it is called “Hasta que me forgets” by Luis Miguel. We will do an event there in Buenos Aires. We will celebrate our anniversary and present the theme.

During the interview, the members of Agapornis expressed their joy at the reception they have received from the Peruvian public. Also, they expressed their desire to collaborate soon with another peruvian artist.

Finally, they invited the public to follow them on their different social networks and keep an eye on their upcoming musical releases.
