Sugar reacts with protein and damages collagen and elastin fibers, as a result, it accelerates the aging process of the skin. Therefore, it is recommended to give up sugar after the age of 30.
Publika.az reports, these words were said by Artyom Veris, expert on healthy nutrition, product manager of “Fit Kit” manufacturer of sugar-free protein desserts, in an interview with Gazeta.ru. The expert also talked about products that help prolong youth.
According to him, white sugar is very high in calories. If you take in more calories than you expend, your natural weight will inevitably increase. More severe effects include metabolic disturbances, decreased sensitivity of cells to insulin, and type 2 diabetes. Therefore, it is better to replace sugar with fresh vegetables and fruits rich in fiber.
It is also necessary to monitor the glycemic index of foods, which shows how much the blood sugar level rises. In particular, you need to be careful when buying potatoes, white bread, watermelon, chips, some sauces and sparkling water with a glycemic index above 60.
It is also harmful to consume a large amount of semi-finished red meat products, they can lead to the development of hypertension, cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes. After the age of 30, it is recommended to exclude sausages, hot dogs, sausages, canned meat and the like from your diet. As an alternative, Veris suggested boiled and baked turkey, chicken and beef.
“However, avocados, eggplants, nuts, mushrooms and other foods with a low glycemic index should be consumed more often and should form the basis of the diet,” the nutritionist concluded.
