After Tamim, Saifuddin storms at the end of the innings, a challenging score for Barisal – 2024-02-15 12:44:37

Tamim Iqbal stormed in the beginning. Pakistani opener Ahmed Shehzad and Bangladesh’s Soumya Sarkar were partnered for a while. In the end, Tamim played an innings of 71 runs after playing 45 balls.

Despite this storm from Tamim, it seemed that Fortune Barisal’s score would not be too big against the great Dhaka. But in the last over, Saifuddin made a sudden storm. Fortune Barisal scored 186 runs with the loss of 6 wickets on 23 runs off just 6 balls.

There will be a flood of runs in Chittagong phase of BPL, it was already said. On the first day of the Chittagong phase, the sample of that run flood was seen. Comilla Victorians made a huge score of 239 runs in the first match of the day. Rangpur Riders scored 219 runs in the second match.

With that streak even today, Fortune Barisal was on its way to a big score. Especially with the way Tamim Iqbal was batting, Barisal’s score could easily cross 200. But none of the batsmen except one Tamim could stand properly in front of the great Dhaka bowlers.

Ahmed Shehzad, Soumya Sarkar, Mahmudullah Riyad, Shoaib Malik or Mushfiqur Rahim – none of the bats smiled like that. The challenging score of 186 runs might not have happened if Mohammad Saifuddin’s bat did not smile at the last minute. He remained unbeaten with 23 runs off 6 balls, 2 boundaries and 2 sixes.

A great opening pair of 76 runs was formed in the beginning with the bat of Tamim and Shehzad. Shehzad got out after scoring 24 runs off 22 balls. Soumya Sarkar scored 28 runs off 23 balls. Mahmudullah was out for 13 runs. Shoaib Malik remains unbeaten with 10 runs off 9 balls.
