I still feel nervous when I remember that horrifying moment. At around 0:30, Nguyen and Tuan had just returned from work and were in the middle of eating when they heard an explosion and people shouting “fire”. The two quickly rushed out, along with some people to the scene.
At this time, the fire broke out fiercely, the crowd panicked. The couple didn’t have time to think any more and hurriedly went to get rescue equipment.
“We took hammers and rope ladders from the house next door, and a few people brought fire extinguishers. Tuan climbed up to smash the wall, and the bamboo ladder was held by some people below. I stood to help take the victims. down”Nguyen said.

Breaking the wall, three people inside got out one by one, including two adults and one child. Pray that the authorities and people will quickly take the victim to the emergency room.
“After smashing the wall, Tuan’s hand cramped and became dislocated. In that moment, we were also scared, but we still prioritized saving people first,” Pray said.
Nguyen and Tuan are close friends. Nguyen just returned from the army, while Tuan previously worked as a worker at a construction site. A few months ago, the two went to Hanoi together and switched to delivery work.

As reported, around 0:30 on May 24, the house located in alley 119 Trung Kinh (Trung Hoa ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi) caught fire fiercely. The fire quickly spread, black smoke rising high. Receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Hanoi City Police dispatched many fire, rescue and rescue vehicles to the scene.
However, because the house is located deep in a small alley, more than 200 meters away from Trung Kinh street, the fire truck cannot reach the place. Rescuers had to pull the water pipe from Trung Kinh Street to the scene to put out the fire.
Authorities initially determined that 14 people died and are determining their identities.
