The Metropolitan Municipality resumed the demolition of the illegal buildings in the State Hunting Farm “Iskar” of the company “Bio mining” of Rumen Gaitanski, known as the Wolf.
On Monday, the equipment of the municipal company “Sofecostroy” was driven from the territory of the hunting farm near the “Iskar” dam, by whom it is not clear. The door was locked with a padlock, and the road was blocked with a pick-up truck, which turned out to be privately owned, to be more secure. The barricade was at the entrance to a territory that is state property and is managed by a state entity under the umbrella of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Against this background, and hours after the door of the hunting farm was broken down, the Ministry of Agriculture sent a brief position, in which it is said that the enterprises under its umbrella provide “full assistance in the implementation of the entered into force court decision”, with which the buildings near the dam. “Iskar” are declared illegal and must be removed.

The illegal buildings on the territory of the farm were built by the private company with which the state game farm has a joint management contract. After a series of cases, the so-called hunting hotel with a restaurant and swimming pool, as well as two other commercial buildings, were declared illegal. Their demolition began on March 29, but soon after the action was prevented by the management of the hunting farm on the grounds that vehicles should not enter its territory in order not to disturb the pregnant hinds.

On Tuesday, the municipality gathered people and equipment to enter the hunting farm and continue the demolition of the so-called hunting hotel of Rumen Gaitanski’s company.
The action was supposed to start at 10 a.m., but it was delayed until the arrival of the chief architect of Sofia Zdravko Zdravkov and the director of the municipal building control Tsvetan Todorov. Meanwhile, in front of the barricaded door, two of the mayor’s deputies Vasil Terziev – Ivan Vasilev for finance and Nikola Lyutov for legal and administrative control, workers of the municipal company “Sofekostroy”, which demolishes illegal buildings, a spider from the Center for Urban Mobility, and the police came .
The plan was to first contact the management of the game farm or the Southwest State Enterprise it belonged to. Attempts by Deputy Mayor Ivan Vassilev to contact their directors were unsuccessful. Vassilev said that on Monday, April 1, he spoke with them and received an explanation that the farm does not work on Mondays and there is no one to open the door. The car parked at the entrance was not owned by the farm, but private. And there was no answer to the question of who, how and why used the equipment to demolish the illegal buildings.
After the failed attempt to resolve the matter peacefully, the representatives of the municipality decided to go to plan B and remove the obstacles in front of the excavator and the workers. The storming began by cutting the chain with a padlock that locked the farm door. The Director of Building Control had to pick up the slack and get the job done in order to comply with the legal requirements.
The Center for Urban Mobility’s “spider” then moved the parked pickup across. Thus, the way to the hunting hotel was cleared and the equipment entered the farm, where only one employee was visible.

“Our ambition is to show that there will be zero tolerance for illegal construction in the future – the removal continues”said the chief architect Zdravko Zdravkov against the background of the hunting hotel.
He appealed to the Minister of Agriculture, Kiril Vatev, to pay attention to the Southwest State Enterprise and the hunting farm, not only because of the attempts to stop the execution of court decisions, but also because the employees of the farm have apparently not been at work for two days now. and maybe they get paid.

Regarding the arguments of the hunting farm to stop access to it, namely the anxiety of the game, Zdravkov commented: “The fact is that this building has been under construction for more than a year and a half, and when it was being built it did not interfere with either the game or the hinds.”

The possible removal of the illegal buildings in the hunting farm on the shore of the Iskar Dam will cost about BGN 2.4 million, which will be paid from the municipality’s budget. It is not yet clear how much the bill will swell after the damaged excavator and the raid on the farm.
