The ICC Champions Trophy will start with the match between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi from February 19 and will continue till March 9, but in the meantime India will play all its matches in the United Arab Emirates.
Among the teams participating in the event, Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan and South Africa have reached Pakistan, while England are not yet known. In addition, India and Bangladesh will visit the United Arab Emirates for their opening match.
In this regard, Inspector General of Police in Punjab, the largest population in Pakistan, Dr. Usman Anwar, in a statement on Monday, asked the players and fans to provide ‘excellent’ security.
IG Punjab said that ‘domestic and foreign players, officials, fans will provide full security to cricket. We will ensure international matches in a peaceful and secure environment. ‘
Inspector General Dr Usman Anwar says that ‘residence of players, routes, stadiums search, swap, combing and intelligence -based operations are underway.’
The statement said that more than 12,000 police personnel will be deployed for matches in two cities of Lahore and Rawalpindi.

He said that coordination was complete from all agencies including Pakistan Cricket Board, district administration, security agencies.

According to Punjab Police, more than 8,000 officers and personnel will perform security duties during the matches in Lahore, while more than 5,000 officers and personnel will perform security duties during the matches in Rawalpindi.
According to IG Punjab, ‘security high alert, traffic flow should be maintained during matches. Safe City Authority cameras will ensure monitoring of stadiums, hotels and teams. ‘
He directed that additional traffic wardens be deployed to ensure uninterrupted flow of traffic, proper parking. Police should be deployed at high -rise buildings, including stadiums.
Three matches will be played in the provincial capital Lahore on February 22, 26 and March 05, while three matches will be played in Rawalpindi on February 24, 25, 27.
In addition, the first match of the event in Karachi will be played on February 19, after which two more matches will be played on the same field on February 21 and March 1.
