At just 17 years and one month old, African teenager Ansu Fati, born in Guinea Bissau, broke the record for the youngest player to score a goal in the Champions League.
The feat was achieved on Tuesday night (10), when Fati scored the goal that gave Barcelona the victory, against Inter Milan and eliminated the Italian team from the competition.
Ansu Fati saw his contract renewed at the beginning of this month, after also acquiring Spanish nationality, which gives him the possibility of representing the Spanish national team, in any category.
The old record that lasted 22 years, belonged to Peter Ofore, had been achieved in 1997.
Trained at Barcelona, Fati is one of Barcelona’s great promises, having been promoted to the main team when he was still 16 years old.
