Afghanistan players struggled to find halal food in Barbados

New York New York. The Afghanistan cricket team is facing a peculiar problem in Barbados as they prepare for their Super 8 match against India in the T20 World Cup 2024. According to Sports Tak, the players and support staff are having to cook their own food as they are unable to get halal food at the team hotel. This could affect their preparations for the crucial clash against India as the players are busy ordering halal food from the locals in the city but are finding it really difficult. They did not have this problem in St Lucia where the team played against the West Indies but things have not been so easy in Barbados. Afghanistan won three of their four Group C matches to qualify for the Super 8s along with India, Australia and Bangladesh.
Afghanistan are yet to beat India in T20Is, having lost 7 of their 8 matches so far and 1 match ending in a no result. But coach Jonathan Trott is confident that the team can pull off an upset against Rohit Sharma and Co on Thursday. “I think day games actually suit us better,” Trott said in a pre-match press conference. “So, I’m really looking forward to playing India in a day game. Obviously, they’re a very good team in day games. Obviously, they’re one of the favourites and being the favourites obviously puts a lot of pressure on India, and hopefully we’re seen as the underdogs, but in my mind we’re not underdogs and we’re really looking forward to the battle tomorrow, which I’m really looking forward to.”
