JAKARTA – Coach of the Indonesian National Team Shin Tae-yong ensured that Adi Satryo would still be brought to Saudi Arabia. Although, the player was absent from his team’s last training at Field A, Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, Saturday (31/8/2024).

Shin Tae-yong has allowed Adi not to join his team’s final training in Jakarta. “Adi went to the hospital to take care of his wife who gave birth,” he said in Jakarta, Saturday (8/31/2024).

South Korean coach ensured that they would still bring the PSIS goalkeeper to Saudi Arabia. So, the Indonesian National Team will still be strengthened by four goalkeepers, namely the other three Ernando Ari, Maarten Paes, and Nadeo Arga Winata.

“He still went and only asked for permission because his wife also needed to be looked after. He was a bit worried too. So, yes, he just asked for permission,” he said.

Shin Tae-yong said his team’s current training is only attended by 11 League 1 players. “The condition is good for the players who are here,” he said.

Meanwhile, 14 other players will join directly to Saudi Arabia because they are pursuing their careers abroad. The Garuda Squad – the nickname of the Indonesian National Team will face Saudi Arabia in the Group C phase of the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian zone in King Abdullah, on September 6, 2024.
