Activists vandalize official portrait of King Charles III with image of “Wallace and Gromit”

MEXICO CITY (apro).- Activists from the Animal Raising group put the face of the Wallace and Gromit character on the first official portrait of King Charles III as a protest against the actions of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ( RSPCA) to which the monarch belongs.

Two activists using a paint roller to paste two posters over the portrait. The caption read: “No Gromit cheese! Look at all the cruelty to animals on RSPCA farms.”

“King Charles is a big fan of Wallace and Gromit and we couldn’t find a better way to draw attention to the treatment animals receive on certified farms,” said activist David Juniper.

The move was intended to draw attention to a report by the group, published on Sunday, which it described as a “damning investigation” of 45 farms secured by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The monarch’s portrait is on display at the Philip Mold gallery in central London.

Animal Rising was born as a split from the group Extinction Rebellion and has led protests against the Grand National.
