This came during the intervention of a member of the government in the symposium organized, this evening, Saturday, the office of the Rabat region of Salé Quneitra of the Moroccan Association for the Education of the Youth, in the presence of professors, experts, politicians and civilian actors at the headquarters of the Yaqoub Al -Mansour Youth Council in the capital Rabat.

After that, the same government official touched on the current situation, stating that unemployment reached 13.3% in 2024, with disturbing unemployment rates between young people between 15 and 24 years, reaching 36.47% at the national level and more than 47% in the urban environment, in connection with the decline in agricultural activity by 6 years of drought, indicating at the same time to the structural transformation in the national economy that gradually moves from agriculture and services to the industry And technology.
In this regard, Sabri, a leader in the Authenticity and Modernity Party, highlighted that the government launched a new strategy to enhance the industrial sector, through the industrial acceleration plan 2014-2020 and the industrial strategy 2021-2025, with a focus on cars, aviation and renewable energies, which contributed to raising the industry contribution to 18% in the crude internal product.
Regarding the weakness of economic growth, which is 2.9% in 2024, and its insufficient to meet the increasing demand for work, the state clerk in charge of labor called for enhancing investment in manufacturing and technology industries, stressing the need to raise the efficiency of investments to create sustainable job opportunities.
Regarding government interventions, Sabri spoke about the new charter for investment, aimed at raising the share of private investment and contracting support, in addition to sectoral strategies in agriculture, digital economy, tourism and traditional industries, in a way that enhances employment opportunities, as he pointed out the intensive preparations for the 2030 World Cup in Morocco, along with Portugal and Spain, and the thousands of jobs it provides, especially in the construction, transportation and tourism sectors, despite the Challenges of qualified labor deficiency.
The same official stopped at the “Old” and “opportunity” programs as a direct response to the repercussions of the Corona’s pandemic, as “Oras” achieved the integration of 103.599 beneficiaries in 2022, while “opportunity” was supported by 10,000 contracting, which contributed to creating direct and sustainable job opportunities.
In the field of training, Hisham Sabri reviewed the road map 2022-2026 for education, and the development of 12 cities for professions and competencies to provide professional formations in line with the job market, stressing the high vocational inclusion rate to 70% in the priority sectors.
The Secretary of State concluded in the workpiece his intervention, stressing the government’s commitment to implement the road map for operation 2025, by stimulating investment and allocating 12 billion dirhams to support small and medium enterprises, developing the active policies of employment, and protecting village jobs.
The spokesman also pointed to the role of the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Competencies (Annabik), which expanded its network to 110 agencies, which contributed to the integration of 125,000 people in the labor market, and the support of 6 thousand project holders, but he stressed the need to face the challenges of weak economic growth and the high unemployment rate among young people through innovative policies that guarantee sustainable integration and enhance the status of this age group as a lever for comprehensive development in Morocco.
