Nathan Vandergunst (24) – alias Acid – will not appeal against his conviction in the first instance. However, his lawyer advised him and wanted to go for the acquittal.

In a new message on his YouTube channel, Acid said on Sunday evening that he had entered into discussions with lawyer Sven Mary and Sanda Dia’s father to make agreements about how he will transfer the money raised to the non-profit organization Sanda Dia.

Acid also says that he will not appeal against his suspended prison sentence and fine. However, his lawyer Walter Van Steenbrugge had advised him to do so and wanted to go for the acquittal. But he doesn’t feel like that. “We were able to make our point. That’s enough for me,” says Acid.

About 170,000 euros have now been raised. That money is in a blocked account. Because the compensation of 20,000 euros that he received from the judge is a provisional amount. A company auditor has now been appointed to estimate the exact damage. There is therefore a chance that Acid will have to pay much higher compensation to the parents of a Reuzegommer who filed a complaint against Vandergunst.
