Accuracy in food / Greece is the second most expensive country in the EU

This is the second longest negative streak in Europe behind Malta

Runner-up in food inflation Greece also emerged in January 2024, at the level of the eurozone, as shown by its data Eurostat that were released today.

Therefore, it was continued negative streak recorded by our country in November as well as in December 2023, while in October 2023 it was first.

Today’s evidence shows that food inflation in Greece “ran” at a rate of 8.3% (from 8.9% in December), behind Malta which had a rate of 11% (from 10.2% in December).

This increase was significantly higher than both the EU (4.8%) and Eurozone (5.7%) averages, which also slowed compared to December (5.3% and 6%, respectively)
