This year’s SPIEF opened June 5, 2024 and will run through June 8, 2024. The 27th annual event is expected to attract thousands of participants from 136 countries, with delegates coming from Brazil, India, China, Venezuela, Azerbaijan, Zimbabwe, Bolivia and other countries.
The main message that Moscow wanted to convey through the forum, Peskov stated that Russia was developing at a rate above the world average and represented a significant change in global political and economic conditions.
“Russia also promotes business cooperation based on equality and the rule of law on the basis of mutual benefit, and offers this to all interested countries and entrepreneurs,” said Peskov as quoted by Russian Today, Thursday (6/6/2024).
This global economic forum has attracted great interest from both the domestic and foreign business world as well as regional leaders, ministers and heads of various government agencies. A Kremlin spokesman suggested before the event ends an analysis should be carried out to determine how many of this year’s record number of participants came from abroad.

Meanwhile, the Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee, Anton Kobyakov, emphasized that despite the turbulence in the global economy, many countries are ready to build bridges of understanding and cooperation, ignoring Western sanctions against Russia and choosing to engage more closely with their country. This expression is Moscow’s message to the world.
The main theme of this year’s SPIEF is ‘Foundations of a Multipolar World-Establishment of a New Economic Zone’. The three-day event will feature nearly 400 business events, including panel discussions and international business dialogue meetings.
