A woman went out to collect money and ended up burned to death

In the early hours of Tuesday, a tragedy shook the quiet neighborhood of Santa Teresita in Nosara, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, where a pair of brothers were brutally murdered.

Luis Fernando Briones, 30, and his sister Fiorella Briones, 19, were the victims of a ruthless attack in their own home, according to authorities from the Ministry of Public Security.

The violent incident took place near the community hall in the area, in a house that, according to the victims’ mother, was where her children were sleeping when they were attacked.

The woman, who witnessed the horror, told authorities that two armed men broke into the house and went straight to her children’s room. Without saying a word, the attackers opened fire on the young men, leaving them dead on the spot.

After committing the crime, the perpetrators escaped on a motorcycle, leaving behind a scene of chaos and devastation. The bodies of Luis Fernando and Fiorella Briones were found by the police upon arriving at the scene, after receiving the report of the attack. According to initial investigations, the brothers were already dead when the authorities arrived.

The Red Cross did not respond to this emergency, as the situation did not allow for medical intervention at the time of their arrival. This double homicide has shocked the local community and has generated an urgent call to clarify the motives behind this brutal act and find those responsible. The Costa Rican police are continuing their investigation to find the perpetrators of the crime and bring them to justice.
