A superb long-range shot helped Denmark “force” England to divide the points

The England team drew 1-1 with Denmark in the match taking place at Deutsche Bank Park (Frankfurt, Germany), in the second match of the Euro 2024 group stage.

Denmark understands that the match against England (June 20) has a big impact on the Nordic team’s competition for tickets to the 1/8 round, because in the first match they only got one point. Coach Hjulmand’s team entered the game quickly, ready to play close at high altitude to win the ball against England.

After the first few minutes of unimpressive play, England suddenly opened the scoring in the 18th minute. Walker ran up to silently steal the ball right in front of Kristiansen’s boot. The Danish full-back was too subjective and lost the ball. Walker’s cross then bounced two Danish players right into Kane’s position and the English striker easily scored a goal from close range.

Kane scored an easy goal against Denmark.

Having scored a goal, England retreated to play defensive counter-attack, forcing Denmark to press forward. However, playing attack is also what Denmark wants. With an aggressive midfield, Denmark causes many difficulties for England’s defense system. In the 34th minute, Hjulmand fired a shot from distance and the ball hit the edge of the left post and into the net, equalizing the score 1-1.

In the remaining minutes of the first half, Denmark was still better than England but they could not take the lead. During the first half of the second half, England attacked strongly, especially when the ball went over Saka or Foden’s shoe. In the 55th minute, Foden shot from distance and bounced the ball off the post.

Denmark played fair against England.

In the second half of the second half, coach Southgate replaced the entire attack line and the new players did not play as well as those who started from the beginning, England’s attacking play was therefore quite lackluster. As for Denmark, this team is very active in long-range shooting, they even shoot more shots than England. If the Nordic players finished better, they would have scored more goals.

Neither side scored, meaning the draw remained and each team won one point. England has 4 points, leading Group C, followed by Slovenia, Denmark both have 2 points and Serbia is last with 1 point. In the final round, England faces Slovenia, Denmark meets Seria.
